Per-event tracking settings
Per-event tracking settings
Most events should inherit the organization integrations. Use an event override only when that event needs a different account, pixel, or measurement ID—or should not report to a platform.
Open Marketing tracking #
Path: Event → Settings → Marketing tracking
Marketing tracking is its own tab in the settings sidebar, at the same level as Advanced settings, with a megaphone icon.

Choose a mode for each platform #
Each of the five platforms has its own mode selector.
| Mode | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Use organization default (<the current value>) | Inherit the value saved under Organization settings → Integrations |
| Use organization default (none configured yet) | Keep inheriting even though the organization has not configured this platform yet |
| Use parent event setting (<value>) | For a stage or child event, inherit the parent event's setting |
| Use parent event setting (disabled) | For a stage or child event, inherit the parent's disabled state |
| Custom for this event | Replace the entire provider configuration for this event |
| Disabled for this event | Do not report this event to this platform |
The parent-event options appear instead of the organization options when the event is a stage or child of a parent event that has its own setting.
Prefer inheritance #
Leaving every provider on inherit means organization-level changes apply immediately. You do not need to reopen each event after changing an integration.
Use a complete custom configuration #
Custom for this event replaces the whole provider configuration. You cannot combine part of an organization setting with part of a custom setting.
For example, a custom Google Ads configuration requires both the conversion ID and the conversion label. You cannot inherit the organization's conversion ID and enter only a different label.
Permissions #
Editing tracking settings requires the organization administrator role.
- Support-level users can open Marketing tracking, but the fields are read-only.
- Support-level users do not see the Google Ads conversion feed section.
