Age restrictions and children

Minimum age #

Event organizers can set minimum and maximum birth years on registration. You cannot join if your age is outside the allowed range.

DistantRace accounts generally require participants to be at least 13 years old to register independently, in line with data-protection rules in several countries (including Latvia).

Children under 13 #

Children under 13 cannot create their own DistantRace login. Instead:

  1. A parent or guardian creates their own account.
  2. The parent creates a sub-account for the child.
  3. The parent registers the child for events using that sub-account.

See Registering for someone else.

Activities must still sync from a connected device or app — often the parent's phone or watch.

Organizer settings #

Organizers configure age limits under Settings → Registration. Some challenges also allow child subaccounts in advanced settings so parents can register children under the age limit when permitted.
