Registering for someone else
Registering for someone else
You can register other people from your DistantRace account using sub-accounts (linked participant profiles). This is common for parents registering children or one person signing up a group.
When to use sub-accounts #
- Registering a child under 13 (see Age restrictions and children)
- One account paying for multiple family members
- Applying to a challenge on behalf of someone who does not have their own login
How it works #
- Log in to your DistantRace account.
- Open the event registration form.
- Choose another participant from your saved profiles, or create a new sub-account with their name and birth date.
- Complete the form and submit.
Activities for challenges still sync through connected apps on the account that records them — typically the person who actually wears the device.
For virtual competitions and challenges with child subaccounts, open the activity on My workouts and assign it to each child's registration — Managing your activities.
Children under 13
Children under 13 cannot have their own DistantRace login. Parents create a sub-account and connect activities from the parent's devices or accounts as appropriate.
Challenges vs competitions #
- Challenges: sub-account apply is available from the challenge apply form.
- In-person / virtual competitions: during checkout you can add multiple participants under one payer, or pick saved profiles if logged in.
