Challenge rules and activity limits

Settings → Rules (sports activity challenges) defines which workouts count toward results.

GPS requirement #

Setting Effect
GPS required Only activities with GPS track count
GPS optional Activities with or without GPS
No GPS Non-GPS activities allowed

Important for virtual-style efforts inside challenges.

GPS recording gaps #

A device or app can stop recording GPS points temporarily and then resume at a distant location. Some source apps connect those two points with a straight line, which can overstate the recorded distance and time.

When DistantRace identifies a long unrecorded bridge or an implausible jump, it can exclude that segment from credited distance and omit the corresponding unrecorded interval from scored time. The activity can still count; only the unverifiable part is removed.

Distance is reduced only when the correction is material, and the correction never increases a result. Ordinary tracks without a recording gap remain unchanged. As a result, the value shown by DistantRace can be lower than the total shown by the source app.

Sync timing #

  • Hours after end — how long after the challenge ends synced activities still count
  • Sync offset — ignore workouts synced too late after they occurred

Activity before join #

Count past activities — include workouts recorded before the participant registered (within challenge dates).

Per-activity limits #

Minimum and maximum:

  • Duration
  • Distance
  • Energy
  • Steps

Daily acceptance #

  • Max activities per day — cap how many count
  • Order — which activities rank when over the limit (longest, shortest, first synced, etc.)

Participant troubleshooting #

When activities are excluded, participants see reasons on the activity detail page. Share Why activities are missing.

If an activity counts but its distance or scored time is lower than in the source app, share Managing your activities.

Organizers can accept individual workouts from Participants → Workouts.
