Managing saved participant profiles
Besides your own identity, DistantRace lets you save other people you register regularly — children, family members, or teammates.

Your profile vs saved profiles #

Create a profile #
- Participants → Add
- Enter name, birth date, gender, and contact fields
- Save — the profile appears in the Participant menu during registration

How checkout reuses profiles #
When you are signed in, checkout preselects your connected participant on the first empty registration that matches the ticket's age rules. If you are registering another person, use Register someone else and choose or enter their profile instead.
Checkout also reuses a profile you manage when the entered first name, last name, and exact birth date match it. Name matching is case-insensitive. This prevents another saved profile from being created for the same person; profiles visible only because you shared a team are never matched automatically.
Edit a profile #
Open a saved profile you created to update name, birth date, or contact details. Changes propagate to future registrations; past event entries keep historical data unless the organizer edits them.
You cannot edit another user's connected profile (someone with their own login) — only unlink it from your list.
Link via share code #
If an organizer sent a connect link, opening it may add an existing participant profile to your account — Linking a participant profile.
You can also accept a share link from the Participants page when ?linkcode= is in the URL.
Unlink a profile #
Unlink removes a profile from your Participant menu without deleting the person from events they already joined. Use when you no longer register that person but their history should stay intact.
Delete a profile #
Delete is only available for profiles you created that do not have their own login.
- If the person never registered for a paid or active event, the profile is anonymized and removed.
- If they already have registrations or unpaid carts, delete is blocked — DistantRace unlinks only and shows a warning so orders and start lists stay correct.
