Using a join code

Private and unlisted events on DistantRace may require a join code (also called a join password) before you can register.

When you need a code #

  • The event is set to Private or Unlisted with individual passwords
  • The organizer sent you a personal code or QR code
  • The event page redirects you to a code-entry screen

Enter a code on the web #

  1. Open the event link from the organizer.
  2. If prompted, enter your join code on the code-entry page.
  3. After validation, you are redirected to the registration form for that event.

Code validity

A valid code is remembered for about 15 minutes in your browser session. If registration takes longer, you may need to enter the code again.

Apply with a code during registration #

On some events you can also enter a code in the registration form itself. The code may:

  • Unlock access to a private event
  • Pre-select a distance if the code is tied to one
  • Pre-fill your name or email if the organizer set those on the code

One code per participant #

Individual join codes can only be used by one DistantRace account. After you register with a code, that code is linked to your account.

Join codes in the mobile app #

In the DistantRace app you can find events by scanning a QR code or entering a code. See Find an event in the app.

Organizer side #

Organizers create and distribute codes from the manager console. See Join codes and invitations.
