CO₂, energy, and team challenges
The create event wizard includes challenge presets beyond standard run/bike/step types. They set default sports, leaderboard columns, and team rules you can adjust later.

Team challenge (team_ch) #
Team-first sports challenge — participants join teams and team standings are enabled from the start (have_teams, have_teams_standings).

Wizard team setup #
On the external Easy Event Create form you can choose:
- Organizer teams (
Event Team = org) — you enter comma-separated team names; participants pick from a required "Pick Team" question; only listed teams allowed (only_private_teams). - Participant teams (
Event Team = participant) — participants create or join teams freely; same sport defaults apply.

CO₂ challenge (co2_ch) #
Tracks estimated CO₂ savings from active travel (walking, running, cycling) instead of driving.

Ideal for sustainability campaigns. Participants see CO₂ totals on My result and the public leaderboard.
Energy challenge (energy_ch) #
Scores participants on energy (calories converted to kWh) across all sport types.

Use for wellness programs emphasizing active energy burn rather than distance alone. Leaderboard ordering follows total calories/energy unless you change display settings.
Shared wizard defaults #
All three presets (and other wizard types) start with:
- Unlisted access until you share the event
- Registration open immediately through event end
- GPS activities expected (
should_have_gps) except step variants - 12-hour grace period after event end (
after_end_hours) - Default hero image for the event type
After creation #
- Adjust dates, access, and pricing in settings
- For team events — review teams and the team picker question
- Publish via Share your event (Easy Access)
- Monitor Challenge dashboard analytics
