Getting started after signup
Getting started after signup
After you create a DistantRace account, the platform guides you through three short steps before you can join events.
Step 1 — Participant profile #
If you registered with email and have not completed your profile yet, you are asked for your first name and last name. This creates your participant profile — the identity used when you register for races and challenges.
One account everywhere
Use the same account on your computer and phone. Activities sync to one profile; registering with different accounts is a common cause of missing results.
If you signed up with Google, Apple, or Facebook, you may skip this step when your name is already known.
Step 2 — Connect sports apps #
Next you see available connections — Garmin, Polar, Fitbit, and others. Connect at least one service you use to record activities or daily steps.
See Supported apps for the full list and setup guides.
For step challenges, you also need the DistantRace mobile app to send daily steps from Apple Health, Google Fit, or Health Connect.
Step 3 — Suggested events #
The final step shows open events you can join, including events where you previously registered interest before creating an account. You can register from here or skip and browse public events later.
What happens next #
When you open an event link from an organizer, you may also see a dedicated challenge onboarding page with step-by-step instructions for that specific event.
