Season pass and multi-stage competitions

Some organizers run a season pass (collection competition) — one parent event that contains several child races. Participants may register once for the series and appear in each stage, or move between stages as the season progresses.

Path: Competition list → open parent collection event, or child stage under it

Structure #

Level Meaning
Parent (collection) Season pass container — holds child competitions
Child stage Individual race (virtual, in-person, or distant race) within the series
Third level Some setups nest a stage under a sub-series

Child events inherit club branding but have their own start list, distances, and results.

Registration behavior #

When someone registers for a collection parent, DistantRace can create matching entries on child competitions automatically (depending on configuration). Check each child Start list after bulk imports.

Paid season passes link one cart to multiple stage entries — see Managing orders and carts.

Transfer between stages #

For stage competitions (child races in a series), organizers can move a participant to a future stage that has not started yet, as long as they have no published result on the current stage.

Path: Start list → open participant → Transfer → choose target stage → Save

The transfer:

  • Moves the registration to the new stage competition
  • Clears bib numbers that belonged only to the old stage
  • Recreates team membership on the target stage if the participant was on a team

Participants cannot self-transfer — organizers perform this from the console.

Results and standings #

Each child stage has its own Results tab. Series-wide standings (if configured) aggregate points across stages — see Standings and rankings.
