# Challenge stages and section standings

When a challenge has **stages** (Settings → Stages), standings can be viewed **per stage** as well as overall.

## Configure stages

**Path:** Settings → **Stages**

Create named periods (e.g. Week 1, February) with optional separate goals. See [Challenge settings reference → Stages](challenge-settings-reference.md#stages).

## Section participant standings

**Path:** Challenge → Participants → **Section** filter or `/section/<id>/` URL

Shows the same columns as the main leaderboard but counts only activities within the selected stage dates.

Export section results to XLSX from the participants table.

## Section team standings

**Path:** Challenge → Teams → section view

Team totals recalculated for the stage window only — useful for monthly team prizes.
