# Challenge onboarding page

Every challenge has an **onboarding page** — a step-by-step guide the organizer can share with participants. It explains how to find the event, install the app, connect data sources, and register.

## Open the onboarding page

Organizers share the onboarding URL from **Easy Access** in the manager console, or you find an **Onboarding** button on the challenge page.

The URL pattern is:

## What the page covers

1. **How to access the challenge** — event link, join code, or QR scan in the app
2. **Download the DistantRace app** — iOS and Android store links
3. **Create an account and connect apps** — links to connection guides
4. **Platform-specific sync help** — Android steps, Apple Health, Samsung Health, Huawei, and more
5. **Register for the challenge** — link to the apply form

::: tip Step challenges need the app
For step challenges, daily steps are sent through the DistantRace mobile app. The onboarding page states when the app is required.

## Help links

The onboarding page links to detailed documentation for:

- [Supported apps](../connections-with-apps/supported-apps.md)
- [Data synchronization issues](../connections-with-apps/data-synchronization-problems/the-most-common-reasons-for-data-synchronization-issues.md)
- [Find a challenge in the app](find-an-event-in-the-app.md)

## After onboarding

Once registered, see [After joining a challenge](after-joining-a-challenge.md) for what you see on the challenge page.

Organizers configure sharing from [Share your event (Easy Access)](../running-events/share-your-event-easy-access.md).
