# SMS campaigns

Send bulk or targeted SMS to participants after connecting an SMS provider.

**Path:** Manager console → **Marketing** → SMS campaigns

## Prerequisites

Connect at least one SMS integration:

- [Twilio](twilio.md)
- [Text2Reach](text2reach.md)
- [SMS Server Tools](sms-server-tools.md)

Set one provider as **primary**; others can be backup.

## Create a campaign

1. Marketing → SMS campaigns → **Create**
2. Select target event and audience (all participants, distance, status filter)
3. Use **Preview recipients** on the form — shows how many people match before you send (updates when filters change)
4. Write message text — keep under 160 characters for single-segment SMS where possible
5. Schedule or send immediately
6. Review delivery status in the campaign detail view

## Campaign status

On the campaign detail page:

- **Disable** — pause a scheduled campaign without deleting it
- **Enable** — re-activate a disabled campaign
- **Delete** — remove campaigns that have not sent messages yet

View individual message delivery under **Marketing → Messages**.

## SMS templates

Reusable templates live under Marketing → **SMS templates**. Use them for recurring messages (race-day reminders, result notifications).

## Costs

SMS is billed by your provider (Twilio, Text2Reach credits, etc.). DistantRace does not add a per-SMS markup.
