# Event danger zone

**Path:** Event dashboard → Settings → **Danger zone**

Deleting an event sets status to **Removed** and hides it from the manager console and public site. This cannot be undone from the UI.

## Delete event

1. Open Settings → Danger zone
2. Confirm deletion
3. You are redirected to the club home — the event no longer appears in event lists

## Before deleting

- Export participants and results you may need — [How to export data](../more-tools/how-to-export-data-from-distantrace.md)
- Process pending [orders](managing-orders-and-carts.md) and refunds
- Inform participants if the event was published

## Cancel vs delete

Setting status to **Cancelled** on base settings keeps the event visible to organizers but closed to new registrations. Danger zone **delete** removes the event entirely.
