# Connecting sports apps

Sports **activity** challenges and virtual competitions need workouts from a connected app. You can connect partners from the **website** or from the DistantRace app.

**Path:** Profile → **Partner apps** (or **Connections**)

## Available partners

The list matches [Supported apps](../connections-with-apps/supported-apps.md), including:

- Garmin Connect
- Polar Flow
- Fitbit
- Suunto
- Decathlon Coach
- MapMyRun / Under Armour
- Withings (Health Mate)
- Wahoo

Tap **Connect** — the app opens the provider login in an in-app browser (or Safari/Chrome). After you approve access, you return to DistantRace with the connection active.

## Disconnect

Open the same partner row and choose **Disconnect**. If that app was also your **step source**, pick a new step source under [Step sync setup](step-sync-setup.md).

## What syncs automatically

After connection, new workouts upload to DistantRace within minutes to hours depending on the partner. Historical activities before the connection date usually do not sync — use manual file upload on the website if needed.

Strava and Adidas Running are **not** offered for new connections; see [Supported apps](../connections-with-apps/supported-apps.md).

## Step source vs sport sync

Some partners supply **both** GPS workouts and daily steps (Garmin, Polar, Fitbit, Suunto, Withings). You can use the same connection for activities while choosing whether that app also feeds step challenges.
