# Linking a participant profile

Sometimes you have a **participant profile** (registrations, results) that is not yet tied to your login. An organizer or email may send a **connect link** to merge it into your account.

**URL pattern:** `/accounts/participant/<connect-code>/`

## When this happens

- You registered **without creating a password** (guest-style entry)
- An organizer created your start-list entry manually
- You used a different email at registration than on your DistantRace account
- Family member entries exist under a standalone profile

## Connect the profile

1. Log in to the DistantRace account you want to keep.
2. Open the connect link from the email or organizer message.
3. Review which registrations will merge.
4. Click **Connect** to attach all racers and history to your logged-in profile.

The standalone profile is merged into your primary participant record.

## Decline

Choose **Do not connect** if the link was sent in error — you return to your participant list unchanged.

## Already linked

If the profile already has a connected user, the link shows an error. Log in as that user or contact [support](contact-support-from-the-app.md).
