# Geo challenge maps

**Geo challenges** require visiting **checkpoints** on a map. Your GPS activities must pass through defined areas to score points.

## View checkpoints

Open the challenge page **Map** tab to see checkpoint locations and which you have visited.

## Submit activities

Record outdoor activities with GPS using a [connected app](../connections-with-apps/supported-apps.md). Indoor or GPS-less activities typically do not count.

## Points

Each checkpoint awards points when your track intersects the geo area. Leaderboard ranks total geo points.
