# Create an account

To join events on DistantRace, create a free account at [distantrace.com](https://distantrace.com).

## Registration steps

1. Go to the DistantRace homepage.
2. Open **Log In**, then **Registration**.
3. Enter your email, password, first name, last name, birth date, and gender. Country and city are optional.
4. Or sign up with **Google, Apple, or Facebook** — you still need to confirm your email.
5. Accept the terms of use and privacy policy.
6. Click **Register** and confirm your email with the code sent to your inbox (check spam if needed).

Use the same account on your computer and phone. Multiple accounts are a common reason activities and registrations do not match.

## After signup

Complete the [getting started flow](getting-started-after-signup.md): participant profile, connect sports apps, and browse suggested events.
