# After joining a challenge

Once registered, the challenge page becomes your hub for results, progress, and communication.

## Main navigation tabs

Depending on challenge settings, you may see:

| Tab | Purpose |
|-----|---------|
| **Overview** | Rules, dates, goals, progress |
| **Results** | Public leaderboard |
| **My result** | Your activities, steps, points breakdown |
| **My team** | Team standings (if teams enabled) |
| **Messages** | Organizer and participant posts (if enabled) — [Challenge message board](challenge-message-board.md) |
| **Step game** | Daily tasks in step/combined challenges — [Step game daily tasks](step-game-daily-tasks.md) |
| **Standings** | Series or stage standings |
| **Analytics** | Personal stats (if enabled) |
| **Custom pages** | Info pages added by the organizer |

## Recording activities

- **Step challenges:** carry your phone or sync your watch; steps update automatically.
- **Sports challenges:** record workouts in your connected app with Start/Stop.
- See [Why activities are missing](why-activities-are-missing.md) if data does not appear.

## Results hidden periods

Organizers can temporarily hide the public leaderboard. You can still view **My result** during hidden periods unless the organizer blocked that too.

## Activity backfill

When you join mid-challenge, activities you already recorded **inside the challenge dates** may appear on your result shortly after registration.

## First-sync reminders

If you have no connected app or no synced activities, DistantRace may email you reminders with links to connection guides.
