# SMS templates and message log

Manage reusable SMS content and audit past sends.

## SMS templates

**Marketing → SMS templates**

Create templates with placeholders (participant name, event title, links). Use when building [SMS campaigns](sms-campaigns.md).

Templates must fit single-segment length where possible (160 GSM characters) to avoid multi-part billing.

## Message log

**Marketing → Messages** (`/marketing/messages/`)

Lists individual SMS messages sent through DistantRace:

- Delivery status
- Recipient phone
- Linked campaign
- Timestamp and provider (Twilio, Text2Reach, etc.)

Use the log to troubleshoot failed sends or prove delivery.
