# Results URL sync

Schedule automatic imports from a **timing provider URL** instead of uploading files manually.

**Path:** Competition → **Results → Import → URL sync**

## Create a sync job

1. Results → Import → **URL sync** → **Add**
2. Enter the provider URL (from Race Result, MyLaps, RFID Timing, etc.)
3. Set sync interval (how often DistantRace fetches updates)
4. Map external distances to your competition distances — see [Distance sync mapping](competition-distance-sync-mapping.md)
5. Save and enable

## Monitor imports

The sync list shows last run time, status, and row counts. Failed syncs log errors — verify URL credentials and distance mappings.

## When to use URL sync vs file import

| **URL sync** | Live results during the race; provider offers a stable results URL |
